What it actually does

The peptide is small enough to penetrate the hair shaft within four minutes of application, which is unusual. Most haircare ingredients sit on the surface or require much longer to penetrate. Once inside, the peptide locates the broken polypeptide chains and binds to them, restoring some of the structural integrity that was lost.
