Beauty Shops in Kuwait: Buying Guide
Kuwait has a growing number of beauty product shops, from large chains in malls to smaller independent stores and online sellers. The challenge is not finding products but knowing which ones are worth buying and which are overpriced, expired, or counterfeit.
Professional vs. retail products
Products sold in supermarkets and drugstores are formulated for general home use. Professional products (the kind used in salons) are formulated at higher concentrations and are designed to be applied or recommended by trained specialists. Both have their place, but they are not interchangeable.
If you have had a treatment at a salon and want to maintain the results at home, ask your stylist or technician which specific products to use. A keratin treatment paired with a sulphate shampoo from the supermarket will not last as long as one paired with the correct sulphate-free alternative.
How to spot fakes
Counterfeit beauty products are a real problem in Kuwait. Check for batch codes on the packaging. Compare the packaging to photos on the brand’s official website. If a product that normally costs 15 KD is being sold for 5 KD, question why. Buy from authorised retailers whenever possible.
What we stock at Dashe
We carry professional hair care and styling products from brands we actually use in our treatments: Redken, Olaplex, K18, Color Wow, Kerasilk, and Maria Nila. These are the same products our stylists apply during your appointment, which means we can recommend exactly the right product for your hair condition.
Products are available for purchase at the salon. You do not need to have a treatment to buy them, but we are happy to advise on which product suits your needs.
