Hair Rebonding in Kuwait: Cost and Process
Hair rebonding is a chemical straightening process that permanently restructures the hair’s bonds to make it straight. It is one of the most requested hair treatments in Kuwait, particularly among clients with naturally wavy or curly hair who want a completely straight result without daily heat styling.
The cost question is the one that comes up first, so let us address it directly. Pricing for hair rebonding in Kuwait depends on three factors: hair length, hair thickness, and the specific product used. At Dashe Beauty, we provide exact pricing during the consultation because these three variables make a meaningful difference to the final number. Giving a ballpark without seeing the hair first leads to surprises that nobody wants.
What happens during the treatment
Hair rebonding is a multi-step chemical process. The hair is washed, then a softening cream is applied section by section. This cream breaks the existing disulphide bonds in the hair, which are the bonds responsible for your natural curl or wave pattern. The hair is then straightened with a flat iron to set it in its new position, and a neutraliser is applied to reform the bonds in their new straight configuration.
The entire process takes between three and five hours depending on hair length and density. It is not a gentle treatment. It involves strong chemicals and high heat, which is why it should only be done by an experienced specialist who understands how to assess the hair’s condition before proceeding.
Who it suits
Rebonding suits clients with naturally wavy or curly hair who want permanently straight hair and are willing to accept the maintenance commitment. It is a strong choice for clients who currently flat-iron their hair every day, because it eliminates that daily heat damage and saves significant time.
It does not suit hair that is already damaged, over-processed, or bleached. Rebonding on compromised hair risks severe breakage. It also does not suit clients who want flexibility, because once the hair is rebonded, it stays straight until it grows out. There is no going back without cutting off the treated length.
How long it lasts
The treated hair stays straight permanently. However, new growth will come in with your natural texture, which means you will see a visible contrast at the roots as the hair grows. Most clients return for a root touch-up every four to six months, depending on how fast their hair grows and how noticeable the contrast is.
Rebonding versus keratin
Rebonding and keratin are often confused, but they do different things. Rebonding permanently changes the hair’s structure to make it straight. Keratin smooths the hair and reduces frizz without permanently altering the structure. Keratin washes out over three to five months. Rebonding does not wash out.
If you want a temporary smoothing effect with the option to return to your natural texture, keratin is the better choice. If you want permanently straight hair and you understand the maintenance involved, rebonding is the answer.
