Kerasilk Products in Kuwait Explained

Kerasilk does not have the brand recognition of bigger names. It is not advertised on social media the way some of the newer haircare brands are. Most clients who use it have been introduced to it by their hairstylist rather than by marketing. This is part of why it has built a steady following. The brand is recommended because it works, not because it is heavily promoted.

The Essentials line

This is the everyday core of the Kerasilk range, designed to be used as a daily wash routine for hair that needs basic support. Within Essentials, there are several formulas targeted at different needs:

Volumising, for fine hair that lies flat
Color Protecting, for coloured hair
Anti-Dandruff, for scalps that flake or itch
Redensifying, for hair that is thinning or feels less full than it used to

The strength of the Essentials line is that the formulas are gentle. Many salon-grade haircare ranges use heavy ingredients that work well in the short term but build up on the hair over time. Kerasilk Essentials avoids this. The hair stays clean, light, and responsive to other products you might layer on top.

The Specialists line

Targeted treatments for specific problems. The Color Sealer is particularly worth knowing about. It is designed to be applied after a colour service to lock in the new colour and reduce fading. It is not a leave-in conditioner or a regular treatment. It is a single-purpose product that does one thing well.

Other Specialists products in the range include scalp serums for thinning hair, anti-dandruff scalp serums, and a liquid cuticle filler designed to smooth the surface of porous hair before styling.

The Styling line

Where many haircare brands treat styling products as an afterthought, Kerasilk treats them seriously. The styling line includes:

Multi-purpose hair sprays, for setting any finished style

Texturising sprays, for creating soft, lived-in volume

The styling products from Kerasilk tend to be lighter than equivalents from other brands, which suits clients with fine or oily-prone hair who find that heavier products weigh their style down by the end of the day.

What Kerasilk does particularly well

Three things, in our experience at Dashe.

First, fine damaged hair. Most repair products are heavy. They sit on the hair, weighing it down and making fine hair look flat. Kerasilk is one of the few brands that delivers genuine repair and conditioning without that heaviness. For clients with fine hair that has been bleached or heat-damaged, this is unusually valuable.

Second, scalp sensitivity. The Anti-Dandruff line is effective without the harshness of pharmaceutical anti-dandruff shampoos. For clients with sensitive scalps, this is often the brand we recommend because it solves the flaking without making the scalp feel raw or stripped.

Third, post-colour care. The Color Sealer in particular is one of the more useful single-purpose products we apply at the end of colour services. It noticeably extends the time before colour starts to fade.

What it does less well

Kerasilk is not the brand for clients with very thick, very coarse, or very curly hair. The formulas are calibrated more toward fine and normal hair. If your hair is thick and dry, or tightly textured, you will probably get better results from a brand that uses heavier moisture-rich ingredients like Maria Nila, Pureology, or Color Wow’s Money Masque.

The fragrance is also subtle, which is a plus for clients who prefer not to smell strongly of haircare and a minus for clients who want their hair to smell distinctly of something.

How we use Kerasilk at Dashe

We use Kerasilk in the salon for clients with fine, damaged, or colour-treated hair, particularly during the wash service after a colour appointment when we want a sealing treatment. It is also one of the brands we recommend most often for at-home use to clients whose hair does not respond well to heavier products.

The Color Sealer is part of our standard finish on most colour services. The Essentials shampoo and conditioner are on the retail shelf because they are some of the most-requested take-home products from our stylists.
